OUTER BEAUTY
Friday. And that special Friday feeling. Again. I never tire of it. After another busy week I can honestly say I soo look forward to the weekend. But before all the family, food, friends and some red wine...I´ll kick start the weekend by hitting the gym. It´s the perfect start. Hope you´ll get a great start to your weekend too and get into that Friday feeling pronto.

A tough cookie

INNER BEAUTY
I thought this description of a "tough cookie" was very funny but also a rather important and true reminder. I think sometimes we need to bring out our own "tough cookie". Or at least know she´s there. It gives strength in any situation.

Ps, and if you would happen to lust after cookies reading this (since tough cookies actually are really sweet) this award winning lemon crinkle cookies sounds like a very promising recipe I will try out this weekend...

That´s a cool bag [and some snaps from the weekend in CPH]

This bag isn´t my normal cup of tea, but somehow this Tom Ford bag spoke to me. Utterly cool.
Touch of spring. The handbag department in Illum is nothing but a true heaven and a must visit for a handbag girl, stocking all big brands like Bottega Veneta, Mulberry, Chloé, Gucci, Prada, Loewe, Tom Ford etc.
Never tire of a grand department store.
New restaurant discovery is PS Bar & Grill, conveniently located right across Illum store
We went for ordering many small dishes which was a hit for both my husband and our three children.
Love a good menu with lots to chose from
Lego - with two sons it´s a big thing in our family. The thing is that I´m always amazed and blown away how the people at Lego can build any building in the world and do it splendidly. This is the pier in Nyhavn, built in Lego.

OUTER BEAUTY
This weekend we had a family day in Copenhagen. So it had to be a little of everything for a family of five.

The Monday Pep Talk | 3 Keywords for youthful living [Deepak Chopra on WSJ]

INNER BEAUTY
We all want to live forever, right. Or at least lead a long life. And with a purpose. And also look young throughout our whole life...Recently The Wall street Journal interviewed the holistic expert and bestselling author Deepak Chopra on their tv channel WSJ Live. The subject was how to have a youthful outlook on life according to Deepak Chopras new "age reversal concept". Deepak Chopra told WSJ about our different ages, which isn´t one but three. There are the chronological age, of course. Then the biological age, meaning how old your body is according to health, exercise and living that can be measured by your doctor. The third age is called the psychological age, and this is how old you actually feel (also my personal favourite since I will never, ever really feel old...) All these three needs to be looked at together when talking about age. Deepak Chopra also went on to tell how science now can show evidence that meditation actually influences, in a positive way, the biological age. And Deepak Chopra says that "if you really want to get old, you shall not worry about it. You have to have flow, feel the flow, instead of worry." This message is vital for getting old, according to Deepak Chopra. The corner stones or key words in life if you want to get old, and what one should build one's life around are; meaning, purpose and contribution. These three words or concepts are what to focus on throughout life for a longer and more youthful living. I really enjoyed this interview, getting a few reminders here and there...like doing more meditation (yes, again...), not worrying so much (some days I tend to worry more and some days I feel very stable, note to self; get more of those not-worrying-days) and pay attention to create the famous flow. The WSJ interview is longer and much more giving than what I´ve summarised here, so have a look for yourself here.

The perfect weekend getaway [La Libertie France]

OUTER BEAUTY
A while ago friends told me about this little pittoresque gem they knew about in France. They had actually just come back from a weekend there, praising the place. I knew I had to look into it...Turns out that this little bed & breakfast is not your ordinary b&b. More like a small luxury hotel with character. Although situated in France this hotel is run by a swedish couple with many years of experience from top hotels and restaurants. Sometimes all the pieces fall into place. On a vacation, we found this wonderful house in southwestern France. It was the perfect match! It was time to make the leap and finally run our own business and work for ourselves, says the owners. I just love it when people follow through with dreams like this and make something beautiful out of it. Let´s have a closer look!

Christina & Johan Österlund, owners of La Libertie

La Libertie is located in Campsegret, a small hamlet between Périgueux and Bergerac in the Dordogne area. This is what the owners describe as "a really, really good bed & breakfast." However, since it is a b&b it has just a few rooms making it a personal hotel. With the owner's backgrounds in top restaurants the food is said to be fantastic. During October - March La Libertie organises cooking classes. If you don´t want to do that there are many activities in the area to choose from, or maybe just enjoy the silence in the lush garden or, when the weather is good enough, just hang by the pool...The prices for staying here are also really, really good I must say, between 85-95 Euro per room/night for two persons with breakfast included. A bed and breakfast de qualité supérieure!

Soon the weekend...

HAPPY start to your weekend!

Summer shoes love [TOD'S]

OUTER BEAUTY
And just when I thought I was over Tod's, having bought a few too many pairs over the years (and since the quality is great you end up wearing them forever:) also including the then iconic bag which I remember being soo in love with that I could´t sleep if I didn´t get, I´ve just discovered my new love for summer. Two perfect models and looks in flats and high heels. Tod's, I never really did leave you!

Tod's also has a beautiful site where you can read portraits of Tod's lovers like hot fashion designer Caroline Issa. And if you want those shoes for yourself here is Tod's store locator.

Every moment is different

INNER BEAUTY
“Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life.  You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either.”

Skin care night and day [REVIEW]

OUTER BEAUTY
It´s all about hydration. Let´s face it, we can´t afford to not indulge in it and I´m always on the hunt for products delivering moisture and hydration. A couple of months ago I started going to bed with a moisture masque on at least once a week. Clinique's moisture surge overnight mask is quickly becoming a favourite since it delivers a lot of - well hydration. When you wake up the skin feels dewy and very soft. The thing with this masque is also that it feels more like a very rich creme, perfect to massage into skin and just leave on to work its' magic during the night. The masque has been very well received and gotten a lot of praise from its users. When I wake up I complement with another great rich creme from Clinique these days (ok, that is after having smoothed Advanced Night Repair serum from Estée Lauder all over the face). I´ve just switched to The Superdefense since it´s working great now that the sun comes out having SPF 20, while there´s still no need for extra sun care, I would say.
