BON Weekend [This weekend I will be...]

...hopefully enjoying some glossy magazine time or reading an inspirational book...
enjoying the last perfect days of our beloved tree of lilacs
...enjoying Friday lunch by myself in front of the computer with this super easy favourite salad...
...later indulging in this favourite Friday treat, watching the seasons finale of "Let´s dance" with our 7- year old daughter who absolutely loves the show. I don´t, at all actually, but I love spending time with my daughter so I pretend as much as I can and focus on the privilege of her fun company instead...
Starting the Saturday evening with rosé wine with eight beautiful girlfriends...
...and then heading out for a delicious Italian dinner including a lot of laughter, great food and red wine
...if the weather is ok maybe head for the beach on Sunday...
...and in the evening treat my body to this favourite after sun moisturizer

...loving Elsa Beskow's adorable nostalgic illustrations of the months

OUTER BEAUTY
The weather is fantastic, and having waited for this summer feeling a very loong winter it´s easy to get over excited about the sun. It´s about time for some sunscreen. Most of us know that we should use it daily during the season. And the experts claim we should use it all year round. There are mainly two things to think about according to the skin expert at VICY/Loréal:

1. Always moisturize twice in a row with your sunscreen. A too small amount reduces the SPF to half of what it says on the bottle since it´s based on a thick layer of SFP (2mg/cm2). Enhance the effect by applying it every second hour and with a special of 50 SPF for areas like scars, pigment areas etc.

2. Avoid direct sunlight between the hours 12-15 during the day.

Danish flagship hotel top renovated

Welcome to this traditional newly renovated hotel in CPH
The entrance. How gorgeous is this? Look at the ceiling. And loving that lamp. And the center table. And everything on the table.
It´s called the "White Lady", as you can tell...

Beginning of May saw the re-opening of the famous hotel d'Angleterre in Copenhagen. The 250 years old hotel has been closed and renovated for over two years. For now 35 rooms and suites are opened but by the end of the year it will be 90. I stayed here a couple of years ago, before the renovation. It was a great hotel, albeit a little old fashioned and in need of renovation, so this sounds very promising. Also the Danes know their design and architecture. The whole city is full of great examples of that. d'Angleterre also hosts a great restaurant, perfect for shopping lunch in the middle of the city. Recently its new Champagne bar Balthazar saw its opening, offering more than 160 different sorts of the bubbles and cocktails. Perfect start for a night out. And isn´t the entrance hall gorgeous, or what do you think?

[BEAUTY NEWS] NARS in Sweden

No orange in sight with "Laguna"
OUTER BEAUTY
Great news for all beauty junkies living in Sweden. NARS is now available in Sephora. NARS has long been a favourite among makeup artists and celebrities, but being unable to find in Scandinavia. One of my favourites is the bronzing powder in colour "Laguna". This is a perfect colour for fair skin since you can build this up gradually. Also, most importantly, it has no sign of orange, at all!

Great view

OUTER BEAUTY
So, let´s get this day back on track...we woke up this promising May Wednesday, to eh...autumn again!  A little early for that I think. Rain, grey skies and no summer in sight at all. So let´s dream away. This would be a great wake up, just open up the doors and through yourself on one of those sun beds, enjoying that magnificent view. So let´s get on with the Wednesday, I´m actually feeling a little better now. Thank goodness for visualizing and imagination. Hope you´re off to a great start too!

Road trip: Award winning restaurant and shopping

Shop, award winning restaurant and gallery, altogether in this rustic Skåne farm from 1870

The shop filled with clothes and interiors

You can never have too many pillows...
The lovely Eva Andersson Bessman runs the shop

The brunch is served on Sundays and is extremely popular

One of our favourite activities on a Sunday is to take a little road trip. The other Sunday we went to Vindåkra gård in Skåne. This is altogether a shop, gallery and an excellent French restaurant, called Ambiance. The restaurant is run by a chef from Marseille who has worked at several Michelin restaurants as well as for Gordon Ramsey. So you can imagine the brunch, served on Sundays. If you want to treat yourself to a nice excursion with great shopping and food, this is it.

INNER BEAUTY
DAY 30
Notice how wealthy you are right now
Henry David Thoreau once said, “Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.”  Even when times are tough, it’s always important to keep things in perspective.  You didn’t go to sleep hungry last night.  You didn’t go to sleep outside.  You had a choice of what clothes to wear this morning.  You hardly broke a sweat today.  You didn’t spend a minute in fear.  You have access to clean drinking water.  You have access to medical care.  You have access to the Internet.  You can read.  Some might say you are incredibly wealthy, so remember to be grateful for all the things you do have.

Get your priorities straight and keep things in perspective. And don´t forget to live your life to the full.

The Monday Pep Talk | Be good to YOU!

INNER BEAUTY
This Monday it´s all about you. Life gets easier this way.

Do it for yourself! | 29

INNER BEAUTY
DAY 29
Focus on the possibility of positive outcomes
The mind must believe it CAN do something before it is capable of actually doing it.  The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful.  Listen to your self-talk and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.  Regardless of how a situation seems, focus on what you DO WANT to happen, and then take the next positive step forward.  No, you can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you react to things.  Everyone’s life has positive and negative aspects – whether or not you’re happy and successful in the long run depends greatly on which aspects you focus on.

Decide before hand how you want to react to things in life, then it is easier to follow that when it really does happen. And check in with your self-talk. It might need some adjustments from time to time for many of us.
